Tailored to your needs the cookery workshops have been performed as small intimate master classes to cookery schools for the BBC Good Food Shows. We take into consideration all of your needs be it championing local food or teaching residents in sheltered accomodation. Learn skills in the art of cooking whilst chefs guide you through recipes. They have been performed for team building, food festivals, schools, birthday parties and a lot more.
Some of our clients prefer to book cookery demonstrations as they can be performed to large audiences. This is great for public events where you want to get your message across. The demo’s have been popular at food festivals, farmers markets and in schools. Although less hands-on, the audience is entertained and inspired into cooking.
Our custom made Smoothie Bikes often prove to be one of the most popular parts of an event. The child (or willing adult) rides the bike, and as if by magic a fruit smoothie is made! A novel way of exercising and getting a healthy reward at the same time. Just to let you know – the bike does remain stationary so thing won’t get too messy.
Parties and Events
Our services don’t just take place in schools and at festivals. Kitchen Academy’s team can come to you and provide you with all of our wonderful services. Our workshops and Smoothie Bike has proven very popular at birthday parties, at corporate family days and at many other events.
This can be done as part of the Kids Kitchen Academy. The experiments give kids an insight into how different foods come about. We show children how to make their own butter, how to make salt out of seawater, how to make ice cream and much more.
Kitchen Academy works with a range of organisations to help service users develop independent living skills. Over the past few years we have been involved in developing and running courses for a variety of groups including young careers, people with autistic spectrum conditions and sensory loss.
Reasonable adjustments for these services can include visual recipe cards, assistance from support workers and use of BSL interpreters and use of specialist equipment.
Outcomes from these projects have included:
– Understanding of a healthy diet
– Able to make healthy food choices
– Developing life skills – able to prepare meals for themselves
– Cascading the learning out to families at home
– Improvements in overall health
– Improvements in confidence
– Team working skills
Please feel free to get in touch so that we can design a bespoke course that is able to meet your needs.
